Science Olympiad foundation
Science Olympiad began when Dr. Gerard J. Putz, Regional Science Consultant for Macomb County Intermediate School District in Michigan, has invited John C. Jack Cairns, Delaware State Science Supervisor of the Ministry of Education, Science Olympiad share the program with educators in Macomb County on March 29, 1982.the Science Olympiad Foundation has worked for over a decade to promote attitude of science through innovative activities and use of IT in the learning process of students from across the country.
The invitation was prompted by an article on Delaware Science Olympiad, the science teacher, in December 1977, written by Douglas Macbeth, beyond science State Comptroller of Delaware, who was brought to Mr. Putz of The Michigan Science Teachers Association president Larwa David. Science Olympiad Delaware was modeled on similar events in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.By combine events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a broad sample of students to participate.
Emphasizes active, hands-on group participation. Through Science Olympiad, students, teachers, parents, principals and business leaders to bind together and work towards a shared goal.The Delaware Science Olympiad was modeled on similar events in Pennsylvania and Carolina North.
