Bhimsen joshi news

Pandit Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi (4 February 1922 to 24, 2011) was an Indian singer in Hindustani classical tradition. A member of the Kirana Gharana (school), is known as khayal singing, and their interpretations of popular devotional music (Bhajans and Abhang). It is the final recipient of the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of India, awarded 2008.Bhimsen Joshi ran away from home more than one reason weak: he fought with his mother because she could not afford to use ghee rice. He had walked, leaving intact the food.

Born into a family Kannadigas in the city of Ron, who was then in Gadag district in Karnataka state in northern India. His father, Gururaj Joshi, was a schoolteacher. Bhimsen was the eldest of 16 brothers and sisters. Some of the brothers still live in their ancestral home in Gadag. Bhimsen lost her mother when she was young and her stepmother raised him. His parents initially lived with his grandfather as tenants of a house Kulkarni, but then moved to Gadag District. His dead at 88 actually marks the end of an era in Indian classical music.

As a child, I would like Pandit Bhimsen Joshi for music was evident to her family managed to get hold of a "Tanpura" used by "Kirtankar grandfather, who had remained out of sight at home. Music was a magnetic pull on him a procession singing bhajans "or simply" the muezzin of a nearby mosque was told of classical music house.Apart Joshi has even sung for many films - like Basant Bahar with Manna Dey and my brother Pandit Jasraj Birbal , Tansen and Ankahee.Truly a divine miracle, the death of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi is simply irreplaceable.
